Mess Hall for Eating

{ Trinity }
"I see. . ." I say, staring at his plate of food and wanting to make a comment about his backstory. However, I decide against it and instead look at him, "Do you remember my favorite food? I doubt you do."

~Esmee~

I stand in front of the table, staring over my choices. Burgers, salads, things, all the things...

My hand reaches out towards a sandwich, then I hesitantly pull it back. I repeat this process with pretty much everything on the table.

"Someone's indecisive," a familiar voice says in an equally familiar dullness. The redhead picks up a wrap, sits down, and requests her iced tea. Her cold gray eyes lock onto me, and immediately I feel transparent and obvious.

"Oh hey, Vievie," I say, giving her a smile. "Whatcha been-"

"What is wrong?"

My smile slips away. "Wow, you're direct and no fun. How am I supposed to-"

"That is irrelevant."

"Not even going to let me finish, I see. I'm great-"

"You're a horrible liar, Esmee. And a worse actress."

"Wow. Just go and crush all my dreams," I sigh, dramatically slapping the back of my hand to my forehead. "Why not just run over my puppy while you're at it?"

"What dreams? And what puppy?"

"Ouch," I mutter. "Point taken, I guess."

"I request that you answer my initial question."

"My gods, speak normal, will you? We're not in cot, or whatever the hellhounds-"

"It's called court, Esmee."

"-I can count the number of damns I give on my third hand. Which I don't have. Which means none."

"That is stupid and you know it."

"Shut up!" I grumble, crossing my arms across my chest.

For a while, a silence takes over. Alvie sips her tea calmly. Then I give in and sit down.

"It's your sister," I mumble. "I know I should be over it like everyone else... But I'm just not. I can't stop thinking about it. Vie, what if I said yes? What if-"

"Esmee."

I look up. Her voice has a rare tone to it. And when I met her eyes... is that actual pain?

"People are never quite 'over' things like this. Some adapt and hide faster. But we all ask."

I stay quiet for a moment. "You're right. As usual."

"That would not be unusual," she replies, but there's no arrogance in her voice. "Now will you please eat something? Your lack of direction and appetite is disturbing me."

Lance

"Isn't it like some kind of chicken?" I ask in between bites of the apple. What was it.... Was it like grilled? a chicken sandwic? I know it has something to do with the..... OH!

"City chicken?"

{ Trinity }
I laugh at his response, "Wow, even with your thick head you got it right. I'm actually impressed for once," leaning forward I rested my elbows on the table.

Lance

"Lets not joke around here; I'm always impressing you," I pointed out before finishing my apple and starting to eat some of the other fruit, but I give up trying to eat them all and decide to just eat the rest of the grapes instead.

{ Trinity }
I keep quiet for a moment before saying, "Think whatever you want."

Lance

"Whatever you say," I smirk, finishing off the last part of the food I was going to eat. I get up from the table and walk over to the fire, putting the rest of the food in.

"No." Justin said. "I'm single.

{ Trinity }
"Aren't you supposed to do that first, or something," I say, leaning back to talk to him.

Lance

"Hmmm, isn't this the dining pavilion? I'm sure Hermes will be fine with it before or after," I say with knowing glance at her.

{ Trinity }
I shrug, "I don't know anything about your father so I can't exactly say anything. I don't really know how the Gods feel about the food sacrificing either, since Nemesis hasn't ever shown a sign it matters to her."

Lance

"I'm pretty sure they just like the smell of it burning. Which leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but who knows maybe the Gods like somehow digest it after its burned? Nah that would be weird, maybe they just like eat all the food sacrificed to them at the end of the day? No that's worse last idea.." I think out loud, scratching my head.

{ Trinity }
I sight and shake my head, "We will never know unless we ask a god them self."

Lance

"True.... Well this was nice and all, but I kinda want to go and spar sooo I'm gonna go to the arena. Same offer as last time." I say as I walk out of the dining pavilion

Without a word I get up and follow after him.

Tyler walked in and grabbed a plate with a big steak and potatoes and waited for Alice

Alice walked in and grabbed a bowl rice and orange chicken.

"That looks yummy. You a big fan of thai food?"

Alice shrugged "Not really."

Tyler laughed and cut a piece of his steak off

"What's funny" Alice asked looking up.

"You say youre not a fan of Thai, yet you got Thai food."

"I like to try different things" Alice replied.

"Thats good. I stick to the things I know. But Im willing to try something different every once in a while."

Alice chuckled and took a bite of her food.
