Apollo Cabin

"Love you too." Logan said. He left the cabin.

Hannah walks into her cabin with her things. It felt good to be back. The Apollo cabin always reminded her of sunny days by the lake. She started to hum 'That's what makes You Beautiful' by One Direction as she unpacked her things.

"Oh, no, not One Direction!" John complained, lying on Allie's bed, but shut up when she swatted him with a, "Hush!"

Hannah looked over, "Oh sorry about that. I only like a handful of their songs." She replied as she took out her biology book and placed it underneath her bed. "Anything interesting happen recently?" She asks with a curious smile.

John chuntered under his breath as Allie gave him a Look. "No, not really," she addressed Hannah. "You haven't missed much."

Hannah nodded with a small smile, "Sounds about right. So how's it going with you? I haven't seen you guys in a while." She asked as she put away the remainder of her things and sat on her bed.

"Just about normal, really," John huffed, sliding off Allie's bunk into a handstand.

Hannah smiled, "Oh I started volunteering at the animal shelter recently. And the fundraiser we held raised over $800 to get the shelter new supplies." She said excitedly as John went into his hand stand. She had almost forgotten how often he did this sort of thing.

"Oh? What animals do you have?" John asked, interested, ignoring Allie's roll of the eyes as he walked over to Hannah on his hands.

"You mean at the shelter or just me?" She asks looking down to him.

"In general," John waved a hand before realising he needed it and putting it back on the ground hastily.

Hannah took a breath, "Well the shelter has all kinds, though most of them are house pets, like dogs, cats, rabbits, a few snakes. Things like that. Now, since my mom started her animal rehabilitation center; in our own home, we currently have 2 goats, a taranchula, 3 birds, and a part coyote German Shepard dog." She replies as she lists off the animals.

John sighed as he flipped back over. "I want a dog,"

"I could see if the shelter would let you come check it out sometime maybe find an animal that speaks to you. Not literally of course." She says excitedly when John said he wanted a dog.

"I wouldn't be a good owner," John shook his head. "It's a nice idea, but it's not for me."

Hannah looked at him a little surprised, "What makes you say that? I think you would a great owner."

"Not with my track record," John disagreed, and that was all he said on the matter.

Hannah sighed, "Well maybe this time will be different. Everybody here has had at least one time in their life where things go south. It's always sunny somewhere. Besides, you would be helping an animal in need." She said with a hopeful smile.

"Wish I had your optimism," John grunted.

Hannah gave a short laugh, "You should have seen me when I was 10. I was close to being suicidal. I'm only like this now, because it was too exhausting being down on myself all the time. Sometime you have to choose to be happy and not let things get to you too much."

"Nope! Bad idea!" Allie chirped and stood up, walking over to John before he could think back to when he was that age. "Shall we play a game? Watch a movie?"

"I'm sorry. I talk too much. I didn't mean hurt anyone." She looked like she was going to cry when she took a breath to calm herself down, "A game sounds good. How about you John?"

John nodded mutely, looking at the cabin floor.

Gods I feel horrible she thought as she stood up and walked to the game closet, "Um, so what do you want to play? I think we have Monopoly in here somewhere, or we could play a card game?"

"I could teach you Mau!" John perked up, making grrabby hands for the cards. [I gtg for tea but will be back asap ]
