Long Island Sound

Logan had fresh clothes on and was heading back to the beach when he noticed Alyssa. He sat down in the sand, next to her. "Hey Alyssa." He said.

Macy wandered by and watched the two before lying down next to Mariana

{ Alyssa }
"Yo," I answered, attempting to keep things casual. I wasn't really sure what was going to happen, but I had some weird feeling running up and down my being.

"Look. I want to apologize for the other day. You are dating someone and I should have respected that." Logan was trying to keep his cool. He just wanted his friend back, but his lack of self-control may end up kicking in. He could feel it in him. It was coming.

{ Alyssa }
I sat up, keeping my shades on as I looked at him, "Well, thank you for apologizing. That was very nice of you," I say, not really sure what else to add. At least he was respecting who I was dating.

"I really don't know what came over me. I gets it just that we've known each other so long and I figured you'd choose me over him. That was really shallow, and inconsiderate of me, and I'm sorry." He almost hoped that wold make her realize how stupid of a choice she made, but it would likely just make her more angry at him.

{ Alyssa }
"Well. . . Even though I've known you for a while, it's more like I see you like a big brother at this point. You know that for a bit I felt something towards you, but since you had other girlfriends I tried to move on so I could respect who you had chosen. Then I chose Jayce after I realized I felt something towards him," I sigh, leaning back on the palms of my hands.

Logan had so many thoughts running through his mind he didn't know what to say. Some of the thoughts included: "She did like me?" "Big brother?" Suddenly, Logan made a rash decision and leaned in to kiss her.

{ Alyssa }
At first I don't understand what he's doing, then I realized he's leaning in to kiss me. Without much thought and a quickly rising temper I raise my hand and slap him across the face, nice and hard.

"What the hellhounds are you doing!? I just told you I don't see you like that anymore! Besides, I'm not cheating on Jayce--I'd never do that to him!" I shout at him, everything coming out at once in one big ball of frustration and pent in emotion, "I think you need to respect my decision and move on. Chasing me is only going to make things even worse for the both of us."

With that note I got up and walked away, not daring to look back at him nor say anything else. I think I made my message clear enough.

Logan looked down. He knew he shouldn't have done that but he couldn't help himself. He made an impulse decision. He knew he wanted to be the one that Alyssa loved. He was, more or less, obsessed with her. He needed a plan. To do what, break them up? He didn't want to. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do? Was he supposed to move on? Was he supposed to get Jayve and Alyssa to break up? Was he supposed to say single forever? He didn't know He shook his head. Not only had he lost any chances of dating her, he'd lost his best friend. The one who'd always been there for him. The first friend he eer had at Camp Half-Blood, and there she was. Gone.

~Lilith~
I sit by the edge of the water, my knees held to my chest and eyes closed. Soft, sentimental piano music flows through my headphones as I hum along with it.

I still can't believe it happened.

Logan noticed Lilith and decided, despite the fact that she hates him, that he'd go and talk to her. He sat down beside her. "Looks like we're in the same boat, more or less, huh?"

~Lilith~
I sigh, pulling out a headphone.

"No; my issue isn't self-created. Wait, is it? You really screwed up, though," I say, my fingers tapping the rhythm of the song on my leg. My expression is vacant, eyes focused on soft lapping of the water.

That's why I said 'more or less.'" Logan said. "Come on. Tell me what happened."

~Lilith~
"Long story short, I was cheated on," I say, tugging my sweater over my shoulders.

"I guess I should've expected it, though. I didn't really deserve someone like that; he was out of my league. This was bound to happen eventually," I say, still staring at the water. I twist my hair around my finger, sighing.

"Lilith, you shouldn't be putting yourself down like this. You're absolutely beautiful and if that guy was too dumb to see how good he had it, that's his loss."

~Lilith~
"Well, look aren't everything. Thanks, though," I say, standing up and slipping my shoes on.

"I know they aren't, but when people first meet someone and are looking for a significant other, how do you think they find the ones they want to talk to. They find someone who they think looks attractive. It's human nature." Logan sighed. He knew she could care less for anything he had to say. She was going to leave him alone, all saddened.

~Lilith~
"I think we were friends before we considered each other a possible significant other, though. I just really thought he actually liked me for my personality, too," I say, letting out a drawn-out sigh and kicking the sand at my feet.

"Don't beat yourself up about it. He's not worth it." Logan said.

~Lilith~
"Oh, but he is," I say, sighing contentedly at old memories. I walk away, humming to the tune coming from my headphones.

Logan shrugged and sat down for a bit before getting up and going back to his cabin.
