Backstory: Alec developed his powers unusually young, when he exploded a private jet carrying himself, younger brother, mother, and step father. His brother and he parachuted to safety, but his parents didn't make it. He and his brother were separated in the orphanage, which only made Alec more of a loose cannon, and he spent many years bouncing around foster homes, juvie, and rehab before he was finally sent to camp. He has not seen his brother for about a decade.
