Viktoriya Dragunov Icon_minitimeSat Dec 03, 2016 1:12 pm by feathertail
Just a quick reminder to all campers to reply to characters' bio forms when they are no longer in use as characters to let us know that fact so we can keep the collection up to date, and also to reply in the Faceclaim, Who's Who, and Cabin lists so that we can work as efficiently as possible!

Thank you,

B A S I C S

Name: Viktoriya Vladimirovna Dragunov
{veek-TO-ree-yah}
Nickname?: Viktoriya, Sniper Rifle (A few cabinmates call her this)
Age: Fifteen years old
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Asexual
Faceclaim (if one): Anastasia Loginova
God parent: Amphitrite- Goddess of the Sea
Power: Very limited Aquakinesis, cannot use for longer than a minute
Weapon: A ten-inch speartipped blade made of celestial bronze, between the lines of “short sword” and “long knife”.
Other: Viktoriya is reluctant to tell strangers her surname, as she has found that sharing a namesake with a sniper rifle doesn’t always make for a good first impression, especially in America, where it seems the focus shifts between the latest war and the latest Call of Duty game.  On that note, she has found she enjoys the franchise quite a bit.  When a few cabinmates were watching her play Modern Warfare 2, (more specifically, No Russian), she was both the butt and the creator of a few inside jokes.  The running joke is to say “Remember, no Russian” in the most gravelly, masculine voice she can muster.

P E R S O N A

Viktoriya is a very ambiverted young girl.  She can spend hours having the time of her life at a party and suddenly find she wants to be alone.  Her demeanor can shift dramatically depending on the situation and environment.  Although she prefers not to, if the need arises, she will take up leadership.  In a fight, she can be rather agressive, especially once she gains momentum.  She tends to subconsciously snap her fingers.  She is known to lapse back to speaking Russian, especially in high tension or emotional situations.

Viktoriya is stubborn, and once she decides she wants to do something, nothing can stop her.  Obviously, this trait is not without risk.  Despite her calm and controlled demeanor, she is quite irritable.  The catch is she rarely shows it.  If you know she’s angry, you’ve screwed up.  Despite all of this, she has a huge heart and an extreme disposition to becoming emotionally attatched.  She is trusting of most everyone unless she has a very specific and valid reason not to.  She tends to “chameleon” her surroundings in her behavior.  She is very intuitive, being able to pick up on the mood of everyone around her pretty quickly.  She has a good sense of humor and can be rather blunt.

Viktoriya likes playing the piano, the timpani, and the xylophone, and has dabbled in ballet, but found it boring.  She is physically capable, but has never been interested in any form of organized sports.  She dislikes waiting for longer than ten minutes for anything, having her name pronounced wrong, and has an irrational fear of dogs.

A P P E A R A N C E

The first thing most people notice about Viktoriya is her eyes--big, bright, and intensely blue.  She has fairly light brown hair that she seldom wears down.  She has a rather undeveloped body, being quite skinny all around.  She has a narrow, but somewhat long nose and naturally thin eyebrows.  She tends to wear semi-formal clothing most of the time, and has found many ways to modify her camp shirt.

H I S T O R Y

It all started one night in the humble town of Sochi, Russia.  The year was 1998.  Vladimir Dragunov, a fisherman, had spent all day struggling against the Black Sea, which was unusually choppy that day.  Now, he was tired and ready to call it a day.  He began to row his boat back towards shore, but before he got very close at all, a freak wave came and overturned his skiff.  It was the April after a rather unforgiving winter, which meant the water was freezing.  Vladimir’s first instinct was to wrap his arms around himself and warm up, but he knew he needed his arms to swim and get out.  The only problem was, his ability to swim did not extend beyond treading the water, and he didn’t even do that well.  He saw a lady on the shore, watching him.  He called for help, and she looked into his eyes and smiled, gently.  Suddenly, the sea was still, and he was able to flip his boat back over, climb in, and row back to shore.  He felt a towel being draped over his shoulders, followed by a heavy blanket.  He looked over his shoulder and saw the woman, staring at him intently, like a mother looks at an ailing child.  She had bright blue eyes and brown hair, and was very youthful in appearance, but aged in mannerisms.  In an odd way, she was beautiful.
“Kto ty?” Vladimir asked, hardly able to speak through his chattering teeth.
“Pozvonite mne Galena.” The woman told him.
“Spasibo, Galena.” He said, bowing slightly.
Over the course of the next few days, Vladimir ran that night over and over in his head.  He couldn’t avoid thinking about how stunning the woman was.  He chastised himself for acting like those men in cheesy western love movies, but he decided to ask Amie out the next time he saw her.  He didn’t have to wait long, and, to his joy, she said yes.  A budding romance soon snowballed into a full commitment and within a few months, Amiesuddenly was with child, and Vladimir had the sneaking suspicion it was his.  Of course, this was verified, and all of a sudden they were the proud parents of a blue-eyed baby girl: Viktoriya Vladimirovna Dragunov.  Despite this slight bump, all was well.  That is, until Amiehad to leave.  She never gave a reason or explanation, just apologized, kissed him, kissed their newborn daughter, and left without a trace.  Vladimir was shocked and needed some time to process it, but once he had, he got over it.  The only trace Amiehad left was a memory and a daughter.
------
1: "Who are you?"
2: "Call me Amie."
3: "Thank you, Amie."

Viktoriya spent the majority of her childhood in Sochi, attending the public schools and playing with the other kids her age.  She was an intelligent child, but struggled to earn good grades due to the demigod package deal of ADHD and dyslexia.  When she was ten years old, Vladimir decided to attempt to homeschool her.  This did not go quite as well as he had hoped, and he eventually gave up.
Three years later, they moved to the United States, for a reason that was less than obvious to Viktoriya.  Having been raised with the Russian language and culture, the transition into the mysterious western world was a difficult and scary one.  She had to learn English very quickly, and struggled at first, but soon caught on and became only slightly less than fluent.
A year after they arrived, to the minute, a satyr arrived at their door.  He spoke to Vladimir in private, and soon, Viktoriya was called to the door.
“Papa, chto proiskhodit?” Viktoria asked.
Vladimir explained that she was going to a special camp where she’d be safer than with him, and that she was special, but he didn’t elaborate on that bit.  He embraced her, then the Satyr took her away.

“Do you speak English?” The Satyr asked.
“D--Yes.” Viktoriya said.
“Good, ‘cause I don’t speak Russian.  I need you to do exactly as I say, alright?”
Viktoriya nodded as they approaced the huge, forboding forest.
“Alright, Viktoriya, you see the white arch at the top of the hill?”
“I see it.”
“You need to run to that as fast as your little legs will carry you, clear?”
“Yes.”
“On three…”
He counted to three, and they both ran.  It was apparent that luck was on their side, and they made it into camp without a hitch.  The satyr high fived her before taking her to the big hourse and introducing her to Chiron.  It became apparent that she was no child of any major goddesses, so they put her in the Hermes cabin until “further notice”.  It was crowded, but she grew accustomed to it and settled in very nicely.  That was only a few weeks ago.

4: "Dad, what is happening?"
