Just a quick reminder to all campers to reply to characters' bio forms when they are no longer in use as characters to let us know that fact so we can keep the collection up to date, and also to reply in the Faceclaim, Who's Who, and Cabin lists so that we can work as efficiently as possible!

Thank you,

Godly Parent:
Years of Camp:

PostSubject: John Buchanan   Sat Oct 10, 2015 6:19 pm

Name: John Buchanan
Nickname?: -
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Undecided
Personality: John is a character, to say the least. He loves to laugh and tell jokes, and flirts with just about everyone, but he means nothing by it, and makes friends quickly and keeps them close. Despite this, he sometimes drops deep into a heavy state of pessimism, which cannot be fully broken, even by his best friends. He just has to be forced to eat and go outside and socialise, and then he'll be himself again.
God parent: Hermes
Power(s)?: John is quite the thief, having learnt at an early age that it wasn't a bad thing to do if it kept you alive. He loves to put his sneaking skills to use, especially when pranking his friends. He can run fast and is light on his feet, which is useful for escaping when you have a prank victim on your tail!
Backstory: John never knew his parents, or parent, as he was brought up on the streets of Brooklyn by a group of boys, who were under the 'command', if you will, of a mysterious man who got them to steal from people in return for food, board, and warmth. He remembers being caught on many an occasion and being locked in a cell with much older criminals, and was forced to stay there until he could escape. He grew fearful of being caught because of the way he was treated, and that fear meant he concentrated harder and harder on working, until (at the age of 7) he was the best in the group of boys. He continued to work, evading capture, until one of the new boys slipped up and landed John in a cell again. He was unable to escape for an undetermined amount of time, but for him it felt like weeks, and he still has nightmares about it. When he finally did escape, he found that his place had been taken by his second in command, Michael, and had to fight for his position. Unfortunately, Michael was stronger and more heavily-built than the younger boy, and beat him down into the gutter. When he regained full consciousness several days later, he was at Camp, in the Infirmary, being looked after by a girl a year younger than him, but way ahead of her years in skill with healing. She informed him that she had found him on the streets and just had to patch him up, especially when he had been claimed by Hermes as she stood over his unconscious form. The girl, Allie, is one of his best friends at Camp, and he still feels he remains in her debt, despite her frequent insistences that he was never in her debt in the first place. He has remained at Camp ever since and has never left.
Strengths: He has a quick mind, which gets him out of sticky situations, as does his fleetfootedness, backed up by his skill in hand-to-hand which he sometimes has to resort to.
Weaknesses: His past is something he never wants to remember, but unfortunately he does remember, and so can descend into pits of negativity, which impacts on him and those around him. His friends and family are something he holds very dear and would die for them. He is also increasingly reckless during battles, as he tries to be too clever and can end up injured.
Weapon(s): John is most adept at hand-to-hand, with fists, but in a real fight he uses a one and a half hander celestial bronze sword given to him by his father.

Rest in Peace, Disney, I hope you are happier now, wherever you are. You won't be forgotten, I swear. I'm glad we could offer some light to you in dark times.

Death leaves a heartache that no-one can heal, but love leaves a memory that no-one can steal.

Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I'll miss you, until we meet again.

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, missed, and very dear.
