The Sun Car [Group 1]

{ Alyssa }
I waited along the border, keeping an eye out for the rest of my group. Tessa's prophecy was still clear in my mind, especially after it was decided that since my father was Apollo we'd take the part that had basically stated my father's Sun Car was missing. The other group was to find Artemis' Chariot.

'Down in the land of light', meaning we would be traveling south and somewhere warm and sunny. How we got there and how we found the exact location was still a mystery for me. Hopefully I wasn't the only one having some sort of idea on this quest.

~Jayce
"Is everyone ready to go? We shouldn't be wasting any time, considering we only have week to find it and return it to, um, Apollo," I say, coughing awkwardly.

Lance

"Ready as I'll ever be," I sigh

{ Alyssa }
"We just need Memee and Chelle and we're ready to go, but in the meantime. . ." I trail off, looking back at the other side of the camp border, "how are we going to get there and where do we start?"

~Esmee~

I jog over, a small bag slung over my shoulder. "Hey guys. What's the plan?"

~Jayce
"Well, since the quest is urgent, Chiron agreed that we'd need to rent two cars for each team. I requested a lamborghini, but instead, we got this," I say pointing to a dark blue minivan. The trunk was full of bags, likely containing necessary supplies for the road ahead of us.

{ Alyssa }
"Well this makes things much easier, but who's driving?" I ask.

~Esmee~

I blink. "Oh."

I pause and take in the car's glory.

"That's a pretty lame car."

Lance

"So we're all riding in that..."

~Jayce
"Yours truly, of course," I say in response to Alyssa's question. "Look, I know it's not the coolest car, but look at the bright side... at least now you'll have some leg room?"

~Esmee~

A quick shrug of the shoulders. "Nothing wrong with that part," I admit.

{ Alyssa }
"SHOTGUN!" I shout as Jayce is labeled as our designated driver, already hurrying to the front.

~Jayce
"Well, let's get this show on the road," I say as I get into the driver's seat; the key was already in the ignition, and the gas was topped off, so we we're all ready to go.

Chelle floated up, looking at the minivan with deep distaste.

{ Alyssa }
"Roaaaddd trip!" I shout, already having begun messing with the radio station.

~Esmee~

I take the seat behind Alyssa hesitantly. Cars are still a bit unfamiliar to me, but at least I'm in the back... And have to sit still... For an indefinite amount of time.

I mutter in Greek under my breath.

Chelle floated through the car door and solidified directly above a seat, dropping the rest of the way with her arms crossed.

{ Alyssa }
Choosing one of the stations Bad Blood by Taylor Swift begins, causing me to sing along to the tune in a similar range, "'Cause baby now we got bad blood! You know it used to be mad love!"

Lance

I facepalm as I get into the van, I'm gonna go crazy on this trip aren't I....

Chelle tapped her foot against the floor of the van. "Who's driving?" She called up to the front.

~Jayce
"That'd be me," I reply, looking in the rearview mirror to glance at Chelle. I didn't particularly want her here any more than she seemed to want to be here, but it seemed like we we'e stuck with each other.

Peeling away from the hill and down to the main road away from Camp, I try to calm myself and prepare for the long, long drive ahead.

{ Alyssa }
"Now we got problems. And I don't think we can solve them!" I continue to sing, zoned into the song.

~A Time Skip Later~
We arrive at a rest stop in Richmond; we were taking the I-95 south, and hopefully we'd come across something that gave us a clue to where our final destination was. For now, however, we would just continue down as far as we could. Taking I-95 had been the easiest, but also more traffic-ridden route; at least, driving through DC had been very nervewracking. Down here, it was much less of a hassle, but I'd stopped so we could all stretch our legs and get something to eat. It'd been seven hours since we'd left at nine in the morning, so everyone was definitely itching to get some space and some food in their stomachs. I could tell that tension was growing, which was unavoidable, but so far nothing too spectacular had happened. Let's just hope the rest of the trip would be going as smoothly.

~Jayce
"Alright, here we are. Everyone has 30 minutes to use the bathroom, get something to eat, stretch your legs - whatever. Just make sure you're back here on time. I'd like to get to South Carolina by tonight, and who knows how long it's going to find this thing, okay? Good."

~Esmee~

I nod hastily and bolt out of the car. Gods, sitting still for hours like that... what a nightmare. I make my way to the bathroom, stretching as I go.
