Stop Growling

Just a quick reminder to all campers to reply to characters' bio forms when they are no longer in use as characters to let us know that fact so we can keep the collection up to date, and also to reply in the Faceclaim, Who's Who, and Cabin lists so that we can work as efficiently as possible!

I don't know what it is, but you guys RP your characters growling. I'm sorry, but have you ever tried to growl in real life? It's not realistic. Just stop, please. It's strange. Thank you.

I try not to do it. But I more associate growling with a different sound. It's not growling, but that's they way it can be best described. So much so, that I actually have no other way of describing it. Regardless, I still don't do it often.

I'd have to agree, the growling is really strange and even on the levels of non realistic. Even if it's supposed to associate with another sound of anger there's little to none it would associate with, and again, I've never heard or been able to make any noises such as that.

Its a simple sound you make by rumbling your throat and emitting a sound. Its associated with anger or frustration

There's really no other word I can use to describe the sound. I know humans growling is unrealistic. I understand that part. We aren't animals. But there's truthfully no better word/s to describe the sound I have in mind when I use the word growl. Unless I wanted to say "(Name) released an angry sound," which doesn't really sound much better than growling in my opinion.

Maybe instead of growling you can use "grunting" or "mumbling angrily". Growling just gives me the image of someone actually legit growling.

I think the best replacement word here would be something like 'grumbling'. Gets across the meaning without the confusion.

Technically, though, the word 'growling' can be used the way it has been here.

But replacing it might help if it's really an issue.

Grumbling may actually be a better way to word it. As for you Mallory, I'm in the Central Time Zone so it was only 2:40 AM here when you typed that so get rekt.

Also, if growling isn't a human thing to do. I don't think whimpering is either. They're both things only animals do. (Animals that aren't humans that is.
