Backstory: Zedd is from Seattle, and grew up near a rocky shore near the sea. His mother, a meteorologist, is almost never around - she does lots of field research around the country. Therefore, Zedd is taken "care" of by a rather erratic nanny. After his nanny grew talons and tried to rip his hair out, he decided it was time to flee Washington, and ran east, eventually running into Camp Half-Blood.
